If you desire to give an image a pale touch, here’s a cheat code! This secret retouch gives your normal image a vampire-like appearance. With that said, you should start the procedure by copying the background layer. Now you need to work on the copied layer. Here, you have to change its blending mode to Screen.
Once done, navigate to Adjustments from the Image section and choose Desaturate. This will turn your image into a Black & White picture. Now you should choose Shadows/Highlights to adjust the effects on your image.
You will find that the effect has been applied to the entire image. As you want it to be highlighted on your body, you should press and hold Alt button and select Create Layer Mask. Select white color after choosing the brush tool to paint pale areas of the image. You may enhance the beauty of the image by regulating the opacity.
Adding Depth and Contrast – The Orton Effect
Have you ever wondered how an image looks when its blurred version is blended with the sharp version? With the Orton effect, you can give a lively touch to your images.
To start with, you should copy the background layer of the image. This can be done by hitting CTRL + J. Now click on Apply Image by navigating to Image. Like the Distinguished Paleness retouch, change the blending mode of this layer to Screen. Press CTRL+J again to copy this layer.
As you have to add a blurred effect now, apply Gaussian Blur to the layer. If you face troubles finding Gaussian Blur, go to Filter, followed by Blur section. Remember, the value of blur depends upon the image’s size. Moreover, the motive of blurring is to blur the shapes slightly.
